Styling products for 4C hair or women with tightly coily hair

Often women with tightly coily and 4C hair have a hard time finding products which work on their coil pattern. Allow CoilyQueens to make your search for products easier.

4 products which work great on 4C hair.

Curl control paste by Curls is great for twist outs and smoothing down 4C hair for a nice bun.

No mineral oil, no petroleum or silicones 98% natural ingredients. Functions as a leave in conditioner and styling aid. This product will create definition for your twists and hold.

Cantu shea butter leave in conditioner creates beautiful soft  twistouts with hold and without making your hair hard. Moisturizes and conditions tightly coily hair.

This conditioner is of medium consistency.
The product lasts for 3-5 days before you need to re-apply.
No buildup unless you apply to much a little goes a long way with this leave in conditioner.

Very inexpensive
Large container

I also found another product from the Curls product line, its called goddess curls. Its a botanical curl get that defines, defrizzes and holds your curls. I used this product alone over a leave in conditoner. Its like a gel serum. I was really impressed it provides hold without the stiffness.

This gel give you great hold but leaves your hair feeling soft. The price is moderate but a little of this product goes a long way. So I think the bottle will last you a good while. No flakiness and your hair is not left with the gooey feeling you get with gels.

So tell us what is your coil pattern and have you found a favorite product you would like to share with other ladies?

    1. I recommend the curls control paste pictured above for twist out styles. Mix some grapsseed oil and sunflower oil together to use as shine, to soften and to protect against the rays of the sun. The control paste will give you the hold that you need. when it is extremely hot it is best to wear your hair up to control frizz and keep cool.

  3. Can the curls control paste be used to smooth your edges as well?

  4. Nice hair pictures above. I see the Curl Ehancing Smoothie and one of those pics, I'm also a huge fan of the Shea Moisture Line along with Nubian Heritage. Keeping my 4c hair moisturize is key for me. I always seal my hair after getting out the shower, I use a non sulfate shampoo from the shea moisture restorative line. I clarify with AV every 4 to 6 weeks maybe sooner depending on how much product I use or the amount of buildup. More info about my hair care can be located on my Youtube channel DivaNaturalWuan: http://www.youtube.com/user/Lawuan223

  6. Omg!! I bought the curls control paste from your suggestion and I love it! Soft twist outs with definition! No more tangled shrunken hair. I've had 3 straight good hair days and haven't had a good hair day since February! Think I may try the goddess curls too! Thank you do much!

  7. I have 4c hair with curls/coils. I moisturize my hair by getting it wet in the shower, adding kinky curly knot today detangler/leave-in, then adding coconut oil to seal in the moisture. This has done wonders for my 4c hair and it actually makes my hair clump together and my curls/coils pop!
